Helm Lodge, Bowness-on-Windermere

A single bedroom 19th century country lodge built in the Tudor style needed to be enlarged to provide family accommodation. The property is within the Lake District National Park Authority, which has particular and often stringent planning requirements. A sensitively designed two storey wing was added which acknowledges and compliments the existing building while providing a touch of contemporary style to the new west facing gable elevation.

A new detached garage with a storage floor over was designed for the site which reflects the vernacular architecture of the area, utilising local materials.
