Alan Varley MRICS MCIAT FCIOB, Managing Director

Alan is a Chartered Surveyor with over 38 years experience in the industry, Alan started his career with Holland, Hannen and Cubbits in their Wirral architects office and became an Architectural Technologist. He subsequently joined William.G. Richards (Chartered Architects) in Liverpool and furthered his career until joining Vis Williams Architects, and henceforth rose to partner. He has since pursued his career and has now become a Managing Director in this new millennium Practice. He maintains close links with local business and charities, forges new relationships with both South Lakes and Lancastrian business fraternities while continuing to work and enjoy home life.

Stuart Chambers BA (Leics) DipArch RIBA, Director

Stuart is a Chartered Architect with over 20 years experience in the profession, mainly based in the northwest. He set his sights on a career in architecture from a very early age and he pursued his goal unabated. Having worked for a past RIBA President, Rod Hackney in his former Workington office, Stuart’s extensive experience covers a wide range of project types from new buildings to existing buildings, working with private, commercial and government clients.

Maria Varley CeMap, Administration Manager

Maria brings to the practice many years experience in professional office management and procedures, with particular emphasis on property funding and compliance, gained through her working for a major building society.
